Professional Experience

Mr. Amari is an attorney licensed in Wisconsin and New York. He has worked with a variety of healthcare organizations including hospitals, health systems, and managed care organizations. Mr. Amari assists clients in developing and implementing effective compliance programs, conducting Compliance Program Reviews, and performing IRO systems and claims reviews.

Mr. Amari also drafts briefs and memoranda informing Strategic Management clients of Medicare/Medicaid payment updates, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) guidance, and pertinent rules in the healthcare industry to ensure their compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.  In addition, Mr. Amari supports Strategic Management’s Senior Consultants by conducting research related to HIPAA Privacy and Security, the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, Medicaid, and other regulatory compliance topics.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Strategic Management, Mr. Amari worked as a Compliance Analyst at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. He conducted research for the academic medical center, assisted in developing board training, and supported the development of compliance programs for hospital-affiliated entities. Mr. Amari developed compliance training materials, prepared compliance training sessions, and reviewed and amended policies and procedures. Mr. Amari also worked as a law clerk for the National Federation of Federal Employees Office of General Counsel in Washington, D.C., as a summer associate for a medical malpractice law firm in New York, and as a legal intern for the Wisconsin Supreme Court and AARP’s Wisconsin State Office.

Mr. Amari obtained his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he focused on health law. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University. Mr. Amari is licensed to practice law in the States of New York and Wisconsin.
