Ashley Felder is a Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), qualified in the strategic design and facilitation of learning and development programs, facilitation of HR audits, full cycle recruitment, policy design, and benefits administration. She has over 10 years of human resource management and training experience in diverse environments including a Fortune 500 global retailer and a small, DC-based non-profit organization.
Currently, Ms. Felder works with clients to conduct HR audits to assess compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and provisions of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Ms. Felder also conducts evaluations of HR processes (e.g., recruitment, performance management and severance) to make sure they support clients’ business plans; and also develops specific HR functions (e.g., employee handbooks and policies, training and leadership development, and succession planning) to assure alignment with both employment laws and organizational goals.
Prior to joining Strategic Management, worked as a Human Resources Specialist at Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine where she was responsible for the creation and implementation of a comprehensive training and development program for all levels of the organization. A central element of this program focused on the utilization of logic models and creating company-wide alignment the strategic goals.
Previous to that, Ms. Felder began her career with a nine year tenure at Whole Foods Market, where she served in leadership, human resources and training roles. Starting as a Metro Educator in the company’s Pacific Southwest Region, she gained experience and familiarity with the unique labor laws of California. Most notably, she worked to develop and facilitate harassment prevention trainings for members of management in compliance with California’s AB 1825 harassment training mandate. Ms. Felder also served a Regional Trainer for the Mid-Atlantic Region of the company where she was responsible for the orientation, on boarding, and leadership development programs for employees across nearly fifty locations. Additionally, Ms. Felder was the Learning Management System (LMS) Regional Administrator and was responsible for the initial roll-out of the system across the Region.
Ms. Felder earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s Studies from University of Arizona and a certificate in Human Resource Management from George Mason University. She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and earned the designation of Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
