Professional Experience

Ms. Soleymani is responsible for performing research, analysis, and assessment of compliance with federal regulations related to Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, Affordable Care Act, and other government laws and programs. She works with Senior Consultants on various client engagements to meet client needs in understanding and satisfying regulatory requirements. She also supports Strategic Management with drafting monthly regulatory reports and weekly blogs to inform clients of Medicare and Medicaid updates, OIG determinations, and expert guidance on relevant rules in the healthcare industry to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.

Previous Work Experience

Prior to joining Strategic Management, Ms. Soleymani worked as a legal intern for the Marketplace Appeals Group Policy Division in the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Offices of Hearings and Inquiries. In this capacity, she researched, identified, and resolved State-Based Marketplace second-tier appeals, including large employer appeals and income inconsistency appeals affecting advanced premium tax credits and cost-sharing reduction eligibility. She also worked directly with state appeals entities to draft and modify information exchange agreements between CMS and individual state health exchange authorities. Prior to working for CMS, Ms. Soleymani interned for Stris & Maher, LLP, a boutique appellate firm in Los Angeles, where she prepared the firm’s partner for argument before the United States Supreme Court by drafting motions and researching issues surrounding the preemption provision of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
