Professional Experience

Brian Kozik is Certified in Health Care Compliance (CHC), Certified in Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified in Health Care Privacy Compliance (CHPC), and possess a Certificate in Accountancy. He has over 30 years of experience in compliance, privacy, and auditing. He specializes in serving an interim or Designated Compliance Officer, and in providing compliance advisory services in the areas of corporate compliance, ethics, internal audit, HIPAA privacy and internal compliance investigations. He has worked with a variety of health care organizations, including hospitals and health systems, physician practices, long-term care organizations, behavioral health organizations, skilled nursing facilities, and managed care organizations. He also assists clients with the development, implementation, management, and enhancement of effective compliance programs. When advising clients, Mr. Kozik’s work places an emphasis on an employee’s/physician’s awareness of their role within the Compliance Program and a commitment to communication, collaboration, and credibility. He is a recognized expert on federal and state laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law and the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules. Mr. Kozik also assists health care organizations in navigating and complying with the terms and requirements of their Corporate Integrity Agreement.

Previous Work Experience

Throughout his career, Mr. Kozik has held the roles of Chief Compliance Officer, HIPAA Privacy Officer and Chief Internal Auditor. While serving in these executive-level roles, Mr. Kozik has work at four different health care organizations, ranging from a large publicly funded hospital system down to a single hospital. Through his work, Mr. Kozik has had extensive experience in meeting with and briefing executive leadership and Board of Directors on the changing regulatory and enforcement landscape. Mr. Kozik has also served the role as Senior Internal Audit Consultant for several businesses..
