Webinar Date/Time: May 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT
Join Strategic Management Services and SAI Global for our complimentary webinar, “Current Status of Healthcare Compliance Programs: 2018 Healthcare Compliance Benchmark Survey Results”, to learn about the results of a recent nation-wide survey with compliance officers.
This Webinar will focus on the current state of healthcare compliance programs based on the results and findings identified through the 2018 Healthcare Compliance Benchmark Survey administer by SAI Global and Strategic Management Services. The Survey was designed to gain a better understanding of issues that are currently confronting compliance programs and to learn how Compliance Officers are responding to these issues. We surveyed over 380 healthcare compliance professionals from various organizations, including hospitals, home health agencies, physician practices and skilled nursing facilities. The Survey included questions relating to 2018 priority areas for Compliance Departments, as well as specific challenges in demonstrating program effectiveness. The results of the Survey provide great insight on a wide range of areas, including:
- Budget expectations and staffing levels
- Priorities for Compliance Department operations
- Work plan initiatives to address high-risk areas
- Methods for evidencing program effectiveness
- Accretion of added duties and responsibilities
- Services and tools used to manage the compliance program, such as document management, hotline and communication channels, sanction screening
- Addressing HIPAA privacy and security
The results of the Survey were analyzed by Richard Kusserow, the CEO of Strategic Management Services and former Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Mr. Kusserow will present the findings and provide his insight on what the findings mean for Compliance Officers and the healthcare compliance industry as a whole. He will leave time at the end for questions from attendees so we encourage you to share any questions or comments at that time.
Richard Kusserow served 11 years as the Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
